How should we remember George Washington’s involvement in slavery? Americans have argued over that question for nearly 250 years. More than any other “Founding Father,” Washington’s ties to slavery have vexed us.

For ages 8-16. Learn and play chess! Snacks will be provided. Registration is required.

For children ages 5-10. Read with Janet and her dog, Coco! Bring your own book or pick out a book at the library. No registration necessary.

The Memoir Writers' Group has been meeting in St. Michaels for over 20 years. Twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, the group meets to share narratives on various topics.

Empower Me, a child sexual abuse prevention program, teaches children and adults about personal safety.  Children learn safety rules and how to develop a safety net of trusted adults.

We welcome esteemed landscape architect Cece Haydock, who will introduce us to American Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton (1862-1937) and her influence on garden design.

For children 5 and under accompanied by an adult.  Listen to stories, sing to live music, and create a craft!

Join us as we welcome authors Nicholas A. Brown-Cáceres and Dr. David H. Plylar as they speak about their new book, Let the People Hear It: Concerts from the Library of Congress at 100.

For ages 13 and up. Learn how to make a drawing robot using a battery operated circuit! Pizza and snacks will be provided. Please register.
